Mother’s Night 🕯️The Eve of Yule🕯️Mother’s Night, traditionally observed on the eve of Yule, is a sacred time of stillness, reflection and remembrance. It is a night to honour the Mother, the feminine, our ancestral mothers and the wisdom passed through generations.
As the year reaches its darkest point, we turn inward and acknowledge the cycles of birth, death, rest and renewal. The darkness becomes a place of nurturing, preparing us for the return of the light.
During this gentle eve of honouring the feminine by the fireside at Inglenook we will
* 🕯️ Light candles in honour of mothers and ancestors
* 🌿 Create an ancestral altar
* 🌙 Meditation and quiet reflection
* 🔥 Release what no longer serves us
* 🌱 Set intentions for the returning year
* 🤍 Honour motherhood, fertility, nurturing and feminine wisdom
Please bring the following:
🕯️Photographs that hold personal or ancestral meaning whether the person is living or in spirit ie:
A photograph of your mother or mother in law
A photograph of a grandmother, great grandmother or female ancestor.
A photograph of a woman who has nurtured or influenced you — a stepmother, aunt, sister, friend or mentor.
A photograph of yourself as a child, to honour your own younger self and your journey.
A photograph of a female you wish to remember or honour during the evening.
🌲A small item connected with nature and Winter Solstice: mistletoe, holly, fir cone, winter flower etc
🥙A small plate of finger food to add to the festive thanksgiving table.
Solstice spiced mulled wine and refreshments included
