Few crafts look as impressive for how easy they are to learn. In this Turkish mosaic lamp-making class in Houston, you'll turn hand-cut glass and beads into a lamp that glows with color, even if you've never tried a craft class before. After a quick look at traditional Turkish designs, you'll choose from ready-made templates and gather the colors you want to work with. From there, it's hands-on: placing glass tiles and beads one at a time, with your instructor nearby to help with pattern ideas and technique. Everyone's lamp ends up looking different, and that's half the fun. A cup of Turkish coffee and a plate of baklava keep you company as you create, just as they would in a workshop in Istanbul. Sessions take place at Eurasia Fusion Event Room, with free parking on site. Bring a date, your friends, your coworkers, or your family.
