Mótha is een interdisciplinair trio dat muziek en poëtische dans verweeft tot immersieve live-performances. Met elektro-akoestische draailier, houten fluiten en gelaagde soundscapes creëert het collectief intieme, rituele voorstellingen waarin beweging, beeld en klank voortdurend op elkaar reageren.
MORWEN
Geworteld in de Proto-Keltische traditie verwijst Morwen naar zij die spint - de vrouw die draden verzamelt en ze tot een verhaal weeft.
Voor Mótha vormt het archetype van Morwen de rode draad doorheen hun reis langs verschillende locaties.
Elke plek draagt haar eigen geschiedenis, sfeer en herinneringen. Vanuit die context ontstaat telkens een nieuw verhaal, een verhaal dat enkel op die plek, op dat moment, verteld kan worden.
Door improvisatie luisteren we naar de plek, naar elkaar en naar wat zich in het moment wil ontvouwen.

Mótha is an interdisciplinary trio that weaves music and poetic dance into immersive live performances. With an electro-acoustic hurdy-gurdy, wooden flutes and layered soundscapes, the collective creates intimate, ritualistic performances in which movement, image and sound continuously respond to one another.
MORWEN
Rooted in Proto-Celtic tradition, Morwen refers to 'she who spins' - the woman who gathers threads and weaves them into a story.
For Mótha, the archetype of Morwen becomes the thread running through their journey across different locations.
Each place carries its own history, atmosphere and memories. From this context, a new story emerges each time - a story that can only be told in that particular place, at that particular moment.
Through improvisation, we listen to the place, to one another, and to what wants to unfold.
