As part of the 2026 Municipal Government Week celebration, the City of Morgantown is excited to announce its inaugural Wiener Dog Races! Have a a tail-wagging good time watching our speedy pooches compete in racing divisions for Puppies, Adults and Seniors, with the winners facing off in an exciting championship race. The fun won't stop at the finish line, though! Enjoy food trucks, children's activities, community vendors, pet-related organizations, opportunities to meet city officials, and a pet costume contest certain to bring plenty of smiles. You'll also have the chance to learn more about elections and civic engagement, including the process of registering to vote, becoming a poll worker, running for City Council, and more. Attendees will also have the opportunity to enjoy an interactive "Vote for Your Favorite Weenie" polling booth experience. Bring the whole family (and your favorite four-legged friend) for an afternoon of fun, food and friendly competition!
