More Than Small Talk is a HEELS YYC social supporting mental health and suicide awareness, bringing people together for an evening of conversation, community and giving back.
Join us at The Wednesday Room on September 30th from 6 p.m. until late.
The evening will have a relaxed, cocktail-style atmosphere with drinks, light bites, plenty of time to mingle, a simple HEELS activity to help get conversations started, and opportunities to support the cause throughout the night. Guests can also take part in a small curated silent auction.

September is an important time for conversations around mental health and suicide prevention. More Than Small Talk is our way of making space for those conversations in a welcoming setting.
Sometimes support looks like checking in. Sometimes it looks like listening. Sometimes it simply starts with being in the same room.
More Than Small Talk is the first HEELS Gives Back initiative, putting the HEELS value of Support into practice. All proceeds from the event will go to Calgary Respite House, a short-stay, home-like place supporting adults experiencing a suicidal crisis.
Calgary Respite House offers voluntary stays of three to five nights, with mental health and peer support available around the clock. Guests receive support with safety planning, recovery planning and finding resources for their return home.
Come with your friends or come on your own. Meet someone new. Have a drink. Stay awhile. Start a conversation that might not have happened otherwise.
HEELS YYC is a community for ambitious young women in Calgary looking for friendships, mentorship and opportunities to grow personally and professionally.
