Welcome to Modern Jive and your Beginner Plus Block Course for November 2026 You’ve learned the basics. Now it’s time to build on them!
Beginner Plus is designed for dancers who are becoming more confident with their Modern Jive beginner foundations and are ready to take the next step.
This is where the pieces start to come together. You’ll build on the moves and skills you’ve already learned while developing better technique, confidence, connection and variety on the dance floor.
Beginner Plus – 4-Week Block
$60 per person
8:15pm Tuesdays
You can also continue attending the 7:00pm Beginner class while doing Beginner Plus if you’d like extra practice and confidence-building.
Why Move Up to Beginner Plus?
Beginner Plus gives you the opportunity to develop your dancing in a fun, supportive and relaxed environment.
You’ll start connecting moves together, improving your technique and discovering how to make your dancing feel more natural.
As your confidence grows, you’ll become more comfortable dancing with different partners, adapting to different styles of dancing and responding to a wider variety of music.
What to Expect in Beginner Plus
Build Your Confidence
You’ll continue developing your confidence while being introduced to new ideas and movements.
There’s still no pressure to be perfect. Everyone progresses at their own pace, and our instructors and crew are there to help you along the way.
Develop Your Technique
As you move beyond the basics, we’ll start focusing more on the skills that make your dancing smoother, easier and more enjoyable.
Timing – Develop a stronger understanding of timing and musical awareness.
Lead & Follow – Learn to communicate more clearly with your partner.
Frame & Connection – Improve your connection so movements feel smoother and more comfortable.
Technique – Develop better posture, movement and control.
Move Combinations – Start linking moves together and creating greater variety in your dancing.
Take Your Dancing Further
Beginner Plus is about taking what you already know and making it work even better.
You’ll discover that Modern Jive isn’t just about remembering moves. It’s about connection, timing, confidence, musicality and enjoying the dance.
As these skills develop, you’ll find your dancing starts to feel more natural and relaxed.
