Margaret is a professional saxophonist, vocalist, educator, and clinician based in Central Florida. She performs and teaches classical and jazz saxophone and is recognized for her versatility across classical, jazz, rock, and rhythm and blues. During her career with the Army Ground Forces Band, she performed as a saxophonist and vocalist and served as Senior Enlisted Band Leader before retiring with more than 25 years of military service. Margaret studied instrumental and vocal jazz at the University of Minnesota and holds degrees from St. Catherine University and Central Michigan University.She has performed with the Atlanta Wind Symphony, The Villages Symphonic Winds, Carrollton Jazz Orchestra, Third Stream Big Band, and numerous jazz ensembles. She is Director of the Villages Jazz Workshop, principal saxophonist with the Villages Symphonic Winds, and a clinician for The Villages Charter Schools jazz band program. She serves on the Boards of Directors of the Association of Concert Bands and Bands of The Villages.
Penelope Williams, MM, piano/keyboards/vocals, has performed internationally for over 40 years. A longtime resident of Atlanta, her musical residencies include The Ritz Carlton Atlanta, Omni Hotel, and Hotel Nikko among others. This commitment has taken her to stages across the world, including Centers for Spiritual Living, The Kennedy Center, and the International Association for Jazz Education. For many years, she has supported a studio of learners who discover how imagination, theory, and steady practice spark growth both in the arts and in school. Penelope has built and guided many music and arts programs from the ground up.
Joining Margaret and Penelope will be John Huber on bass, and Ben Bailey on drums for a fun evening of great Jazz.
This More Jazz Club event is for residents of The Villages and guests with a visitor pass. Doors open at 5:30pm. We have seating with tables and chairs, and you may bring your own beverage and snacks. Admission is $15 for members or $20 for non-members. Annual club membership is only $10. No reservations required. Pay at the door.
