🎃🍕 OCTOBER MEETUP: RHODE RUNNER PIZZA CO. @ THE SCARBOROUGH FAREA lot has happened since we piled into CornerStone in Westerly for a Meetup last winter.
Jeff has a new business, a new home base in Narragansett, and on Thursday, October 22, RI: The Pizza State is heading down to see what he’s been building.
If you’ve been around this group for a while, Jeff probably doesn’t need much of an introduction.
He’s one of our most knowledgeable, talented and involved group expers. He learned his craft at Ignazio’s in Brooklyn decades ago, and what he makes isn’t somebody’s Rhode Island interpretation of “New York style” pizza.
It’s New York pizza.
And, for our money, nobody in Rhode Island does it better.
So this meetup already had us excited before Jeff started adding all the other stuff.

The full Rhode Runner menu will be available, along with some pizzas that really belong on a table five minutes after they leave the oven: Shrimp Scampi, White Clam, Clams Casino and The Lobster Trap.

Dress up. Everybody gets to vote for their favorite. No official judges. No scoring rubric. Just friends and neighbors having some spooky fun together.

🎃 There are pumpkins, too. Rhode Runner is selling them for $4–$5 throughout October, and you can carve one there or at home and enter it in their Halloween contest. The pumpkins will be displayed outside the shop, with a $250 gift certificate going to the winner at the end of the month.
We started doing our monthly meetups to build a real community here. Because eating pizza together and making new friends in real life is awesome. If you've been, you understand. If you haven't yet, you're missing out. This would be a great time to start.
Jeff has been part of that since the very beginning.
So now he has something new, and we get to go see it together.
Come at 5. Come later. Stay for a slice or stay for the people. Wear a costume or absolutely refuse to wear one. Bring somebody or walk in by yourself.
Just come hungry.
