Monqui & Soul’d Out Present Dogs in a Pile at Revolution Hall on Saturday, January 9, 2027Something organic has been blooming out of Asbury Park, New Jersey, and it’s making its way around the world. Dogs in a Pile is five twenty somethings with old souls and limitless chops, waking people up to the joys of psychedelic tinged jazz funk rock and roll.
They’re one of the busiest touring bands going, averaging 130 shows a year since 2022, and the road has become their creative engine. Their newest album, ‘Distroid,’ finally captures studio versions of fan favorites, from tight four minute funk and psych rock songs to sprawling 15 minute jams full of intricate unison lines, genre jumping and dazzling improvisation. The name comes from a Grateful Dead lyric in ‘He’s Gone,’ and it fits the heap of styles in the band’s sound: storyteller Americana, bluegrass, jazz, pop rock sophistication and deep pocket grooves from funk to Latin to reggae. Bring your friends and join the Dog Pound.
