An enigmatic exhibition from Mona Ryder, esteemed Australian artist who has challenged us with her dynamic work for almost 50 years.
13 March - 17 April
10am - 3pm Monday to Saturday
Free Entry
Fragile Gardens is an installation of an unknown future, anxious anticipations, rites of passage and dreamlike rituals. This installation invites entry into an enigmatic setting, weaving in and out of the past and present.
Mona Ryder's practice has explored interpersonal relationships, memory, mortality and core beliefs in a rapidly changing world. There is a sense of theatre that pervades the work with an edge of wry humour. Materials and their tactile quality are important. Often recycled or found objects coming with their own history are used in combination with other more orthodox materials.
Presented as part of the fabric SLOW FASHION | ARTFUL LIVING program.
