About this Event
Why are there so many terrifying mother figures?
From the great goddess Mother Kali to our monstrous Pontianak, from the weeping spirit of La Llorona to the egg-laying Queen in Aliens - the life-giving, yet all-engulfing power of motherhood has fascinated humankind for centuries.
This Halloween, join a lively chat with a diverse panel of authors - some mothers, all daughters - as we explore the ways in which Mommy, literal or spiritual, can always frighten us into submission…
… or bring out the monster in all of us.
Featured Authors: Jaclyn Lim, Eliane Boey
Danielle Van De Velde is unable to join us, but we'll be presenting extracts from her work.
Moderator: Meihan Boey
