About this Event
Moel Siabod (872m) Circular Walk
The ascent of 738m involves a steady uphill hike from Capel Curig to a mountain lake, Llyn y Foel, passing through old slate mine workings.
From Llyn y Foel scramble to the summit via Daear Ddu Ridge, an introductory Grade 1 scramble. There is an alternative rocky path just to the left of the ridge which bypasses scrambling if preferred.
The summit has one of the best 360 degree views in North Wales, views of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), the Glyderau and the Carneddau.
A pleasant and varied descent down the North East Ridge leads back to Capel Curig village.
A good level of general fitness and some mountain experience is recommended.
This walk will start at Pont Cyfyng - LL24 0DT / SH 73605 57092
