About this Event
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mindfully mending broken ceramics with a delicate gold line. The modern version of this ancient craft gives you the same results but uses strong adhesives that dry faster than the traditional Urushi lacquer. This technique has long been used and admired not only for its aesthetic appeal but also the ethos behind it; “to take the time to mend something that is broken, and in return make it more beautiful and precious than before.” You will be guided step by step through all the processes to mend 2 small ceramic bowls. This workshop is perfect for beginners or those who have never heard of Kintsugi before. You will leave the workshop with 2 of your own small bowls, as well as the knowledge of how to mindfully mend almost anything precious in your home
