About this Event
This is a beginners workshop starting from scratch with a little introduction to good technique and some nib knowledge. We'll then go straight into some practice exercises, moving on to letter forms, and by the end of the lesson you will be connecting letters in Alice's signature calligraphy script.
Townhouse is a beautiful 300 year old building in the heart of Spitalfields, East London. In my opinion is the perfect little place to while away a couple of hours with your nibs to paper, with my assistance when you need it!
The ticket includes full kit to keep, complimentary tea/coffee and a homemade sweet treat.
Places are limited at 8 guests per class so this is a small and intimate class, perfect for learning so I can offer plenty of guidance.
Please note:
- Being able to learn Modern Calligraphy has nothing to do with whether you have nice handwriting, as long as you have lots of patience, anyone can learn!
- The ink we will be using is permanent so please bear that in mind when picking what you wear. (Sleeves and wrists in particular can be at risk of getting ink on them).
- Tickets are non-refundable and no exchanges are possible unless I can fill your space.
Access: Unfortunately this event is up a very old flight of stairs and so is not wheelchair accessible.
Travel: 10 minute walk from Shoreditch High St Overground Station or Liverpool St Tube Station
