April 30 – May 2, 2027Join us for a historic milestone in the world of Filipino Martial Arts as we celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Modern Arnis, founded by the legendary Remy Amador Presas.
This landmark event will take place April 30 through May 2, 2027, at Horizon Martial Arts in the Metro Buffalo area—a location deeply connected to Professor Presas himself. Often referred to as his “home away from home,” Buffalo was a place he returned to time and again, sharing his art, his vision, and his passion with the community while enjoying the beauty of Niagara Falls and the Great Lakes.
Horizon Martial Arts stands as a fitting host. It is not only the headquarters of the World Modern Arnis Alliance, but also the longest-running Modern Arnis school in the United States, and notably, the only full-time school of its kind in North America during Professor Presas’ lifetime.
This special event will be hosted by Datu Tim Hartman, senior student of Professor Presas and one of the leading figures in Modern Arnis today. Known for delivering exceptional training experiences, Datu Hartman has built a reputation for hosting events that combine high-level instruction, professionalism, and a welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere.
As we mark 70 years of Modern Arnis, this gathering is about more than celebration—it’s about continuing the legacy. We are assembling an outstanding team of instructors to honor the past while helping shape the future of the art.
More details, including guest instructors and schedule, will be announced soon.
