About this Event
Montgomery County Families for Safe Streets invites you to gather with us for World Day of Remembrance (WDoR) for Road Traffic Victims on Sunday, November 15, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. in Wheaton, MD.
- Date: November 15, 2026
- Time: 5:30pm
- Place: M-NCPPC Wheaton headquarters lobby - 2425 Reedie Drive, Wheaton
WDoR is a global event held every year on the third Sunday of November to honor those who have lost their lives or been impacted by roadway crashes - whether in a vehicle, or as a pedestrian or bicyclist.
This year on November 15, communities across the globe, including several dozen in the United States, will gather together to demand actions towards improving roadway safety and to uplift proven strategies, including redesigning dangerous roads, reducing or enforcing speed limits, and improving vehicle design.
No family should lose a loved one on our roadways; no family should have to learn to live without the people they love.
World Day of Remembrance gives us an opportunity to honor community members we have lost, support the families that carry their memory, and remember that every person who walks, bikes, drives, or takes transit deserves to arrive at their destination safely.
We look forward to gathering with you in remembrance.
