The Mock Mayor marches from his “good town of Mylor” to the “ancient borough of Penryn,” leading a colourful procession. At the front are stout fellows armed with cudgels, ensuring no one blocks their way. Behind them follow torchbearers and town sergeants, dressed in official gowns and cocked hats, each bearing a giant cabbage in place of a mace. Bringing up the rear is the chaotic, cheering rabble of nut-gatherers.Assemble at The Seven Stars at 4:30pm. Then the main event, the election of the Mock Mayor - 6pm in the Temperance Hall (TBC)
