Dive into a magical underwater world of fish and glow-in-dark jellyfish with your tamariki! This immersive performance experience will celebrate the arrival of Raumati (Summer) and our beautiful ocean through themed waiata (songs), kanikani (dancing) and whaakari (theatre). The first show will be perfect for babies and toddlers aged 0-3 years while the second performance will be more designed for older tamariki aged 4- 6 years old. Both shows will explore bilingual nursery rhymes, interactive play, and simple movements using a blend of English and te reo Māori.
Our guest musician Kāren Hunter plays a range of instruments and has a beautifully soothing voice. Joining her is our very own local creatives, Kashmir Postel & Koro Sciascia, who will lead the stories and theatrical offerings. The stage will be transformed into an underwater wonderland with cosy nooks. Following the interactive performance, there will be a ika (fish) weaving workshop led by Puawai Ormsby and Oriini Maria from Waiheke Island Playcentre.
