🎤 Meet the Speakers
Tommy Harr
Tommy is a Columbus-area real estate investor, entrepreneur, educator, and star of A&E’s Zombie House Flipping: Family Business. Born and raised in Pickerington, Ohio, Tommy began his career as a home inspector before turning his firsthand knowledge of properties into a thriving real estate investment business.
Starting with little capital, Tommy achieved financial independence and became a millionaire by age 27. Over the course of his nine-year career, he has inspected more than 7,000 homes, renovated over 300 properties, completed more than 300 wholesale transactions, and built a 165-unit rental portfolio valued at approximately $25 million. His journey and investing strategies have been featured by Business Insider, and he has coached more than 500 aspiring and experienced investors across the United States and abroad.
At the center of Tommy’s success is family. His mission has always extended beyond building wealth—he set out to create lasting financial security for his parents and future family. In 2022, he accomplished one of his proudest goals when his mother retired after a 30-year teaching career. Today, she remains an important part of the family business, helping sell their renovated properties and leading the design of their projects.
Through his work, Tommy demonstrates how practical knowledge, consistent action, and a willingness to learn from difficult deals can create meaningful opportunities through real estate. His family’s work revitalizing some of Central Ohio’s most distressed properties is now featured nationally on A&E.
Austin Paulenske
Austin Paulenske is an Ohio-based real estate investor and the founder of PropertyGents, a Columbus-based investment company that acquires, renovates, sells, and operates residential properties. Drawing on his background as a process engineer and manufacturing operations leader, Austin brings a systems-driven approach to acquisitions, construction management, and portfolio growth.
Austin began his investing journey in 2022 with the purchase and renovation of an off-market condominium near Cleveland. What started as a single long-distance rehabilitation project has since grown into a portfolio of approximately 40 rental units across the Columbus and Cleveland markets. In just a few years, he has completed more than 120 transactions spanning fix-and-flips, rental acquisitions, and wholesale deals.
Today, Austin and his team typically manage between five and 15 renovation projects at a time, with a particular focus on creating attainable housing for first-time homebuyers and building a durable rental portfolio. His experience includes sourcing off-market opportunities, analyzing investments, overseeing construction, raising capital, and navigating rapidly changing interest-rate and housing-market conditions.
As he enters his next stage of growth, Austin is expanding into new construction and larger multifamily acquisitions while continuing to build relationships with property owners, investors, and capital partners. His story demonstrates what can happen when operational discipline, continuous learning, and a willingness to take action are applied to real estate investing.
