Mizuhiki has long been used in Japan to express connection, celebration and heartfelt wishes, most familiarly as the decorative cord that adorns gifts and envelopes for weddings and other important occasions. In this two-hour hands-on workshop, you will experience that tradition in a contemporary, wearable form.
Because mizuhiki cords are made from washi paper, the finished bracelet is remarkably light — so comfortable you may forget you are wearing it — yet its delicate texture and refined look add an elegant touch to everyday style.
Choose your own combination of deep autumn and cool winter tones: rich, warm shades, cool seasonal colors, or an unexpected mix that is uniquely yours.
With the holiday season and winter gatherings approaching, it also makes a thoughtful handmade gift. Choose colors with someone special in mind, or make one for yourself to wear throughout the season.
First-time participants are very welcome. No experience is necessary. All materials are included, and you take home the bracelet you make.
The workshop is taught by Satoi Adams of Mizuhiki Global Links, who has led mizuhiki workshops and exhibitions in Japan and the United States since 2018.
PLEASE NOTE: Registration closes 2 hours before the session. Cancellations made within 72 hours of the session are nonrefundable.

For our Mizuhiki class on November 22nd, you will tie mizuhiki knots and weave them into a bracelet of your own design — to wear yourself, or to give.
