Spend an afternoon creating purely for the joy of making. In this mixed media workshop, you’ll learn how to build layered images that explore hand stitching as line, color, and texture—transforming simple materials into richly expressive artwork. Maria will guide you through a relaxed, hands-on process where you’ll learn a few basic stitches, create painted and collaged foundations, and use hand stitching as a dynamic mixed media tool. The combination of thread, paint, and collage invites experimentation, intuitive decision‑making, and a tactile sense of play. Sew much fun.
This workshop is perfect for anyone curious about mixed media, eager to add stitching to their creative practice, or simply looking to enjoy an afternoon of artmaking in community. Supplies are not included. A PDF supply list is available in the workshop description.

Our courses are typically held in the lower level of Arlene's. Because access to the lower level is available only by stair, please let us know if using the stairs presents any difficulty for you in advance of the class so we can make alternate arrangements. We want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy and participate in our classes.
