About this Event
Toronto-based ensemble Queen Kong presents Mitsve Tants, a new concert work rooted in Jewish ritual and contemporary expression. Inspired by the Hasidic wedding tradition in which joy is created as a sacred obligation, Mitsve Tants asks what it means to choose joy deliberately in a fractured world. Led by drummer and composer Lorie Wolf, Queen Kong blends klezmer with jazz, funk, rock, and improvisation, transforming ceremonial melodies into expansive, groove-driven compositions. Mitsve Tants will be released as a studio recording in summer 2026, with this performance marking a cornerstone presentation.
