About this Event
Praised by Julian Clary as 'tragi-comic genius', Miss Hope Springs returns with the umpteenth reprise of her ground-breaking 1971 Granada TV special ‘Christmas Agogo!’ - to this day considered an un-aired classic!
Leaving behind the comfort of her Dungeness campervan, La Springs rummages under the somewhat wilted Christmas tree of her mind to unpack a glittering array of ridiculously catchy all-original self-penned festive numbers, and regale with scandalous showbiz stories from her 'Ritz to the pits life'. She’ll sprinkle a frosting of vintage Vegas glitz as she takes you on a cocklewarming trip down memory lane. She might spill the beans on that night she spent with an Engelbert Humperdink impersonator at the Blue Lotus Motel in the Mojave Desert or the first time she got her hands on Harry Belafonte's yule log!
You’ll hear her scintillating seasonal sing-a-long-a-show-tunes, cracker popping comedy numbers and wistful wintry ballads…There might even be the odd (very odd) glockenspiel solo.
You'll see why Jonathan Ross said "Fabulously talented! The greatest star that never was sings the greatest hits that never were".
