Mindfulness, Movement & Sound: A Restorative Start to Your Festival Day

Building on the success of previous years' Saturday morning mindfulness and wellbeing sessions, begin your day at the Marylebone Music Festival with a restorative experience designed to ground, energise, and reconnect. Led by mindfulness and sound therapist Rehana Rafiq Lee from Mindful ReSpace, this one-hour session blends mindfulness, gentle Qigong movement, and sound therapy using singing bowls and koshi chimes to create a calming and nourishing atmosphere. Set within the unique, natural surroundings of the festival, it offers a chance to slow down, reset, and arrive with intention, whether for a full day of music, or a moment of stillness in the heart of West London.

What to expect

  • Guided mindfulness and breath awareness
  • Gentle Qigong movement to awaken the body
  • Relaxation through sound and vibration using singing bowls and koshi chimes
  • No prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to be open and receptive to the experience.
  • A calm and welcoming environment suitable for all levels

Session format

To support a high-quality experience, active participation will be limited to a smaller group.

  • A £5 donation ticket to the charity to guarantee a place and actively participate (up to 30 people)
  • Free access — available for those who wish to observe and enjoy the atmosphere from the wider space
  • Please arrive 10 - 15 mins prior to the start time so you can settle into your space comfortably time wise.

Guidance note

Qigong is suitable for most people—just listen to your body, adapt or skip anything that doesn’t feel right, and rest when needed.

Sound therapy is generally relaxing and beneficial, though those with certain conditions—such as pregnancy, epilepsy, metal implants, heart concerns, serious mental health conditions, or hearing sensitivities—should take care and avoid sitting too close to the bowls. If at all unsure please speak to a health professional.

By attending, you’re confirming that you’ve understood this guidance and will take care of your own wellbeing, listening to what feels right for you.

What to bring

You don’t need any special equipment—wear unrestrictive, comfortable clothing. Soft-soled shoes or bare feet are ideal. You may wish to bring a yoga mat to stand on for Qigong, and to use if you’d like to lie down during the sound therapy. A blanket can also be helpful to keep you warm and comfortable during meditation or sound therapy.
