Designed for anyone interested in the meditative potential of art, this workshop, led by Commonplace MWS featured artist Courtney Williams, offers a welcoming, nonjudgmental space to explore the tactile and contemplative experience of working with clay.

The workshop will begin with a short instructional session introducing the three foundational techniques of hand-building- pinching, coiling, and slab building. Then a mindfulness practice will be introduced to the group to help focus attention and cultivate creative flow.

During the remainder of the workshop, participants will spend time mindfully hand-building a small wall hanging, niche or vessel, inspired by nature and following their intuition. Their creations will be fired and returned to them at a later date- theirs to keep and use at home as a tool and prompt for continuing to engage with their mindfulness practice.
