Mindful Paint and Sip

This isn't your average paint night.

Alongside the painting and a glass (or cup) of something, there'll be a check-in and a moment of mindfulness - the extra elements that give Mindful Art Club its warm, supportive atmosphere. Think less artistry, more permission to slow down and enjoy the process.

What We're Painting

For our first session, we'll be painting Smeaton's Tower - the much-loved landmark on Plymouth Hoe, and a symbol of the city that many of us call home. It felt like the perfect subject for a first gathering: something local, recognisable, and a little bit proud.

About Mindful Art Club

Since 2019, hundreds of people have nervously arrived at Mindful Art Club and left feeling calmer, more connected and happier. We've built something we're genuinely proud of - the friendships, the sense of belonging, the quiet magic of making art together. This is the evening version of that experience.

Info: We start the session with introducing ourselves, and invite you to say a few words about how your week is going. This is not intended to put you on the spot, it's just so that we can get to know one another. However, you don't have to speak if you don't want to.

Info: You will spend a few minutes being guided through a short mindful meditation; no prior experience of mindfulness is necessary. This frees you from self-judgement, and allows you to focus on the present moment, before beginning to paint.

Info: You'll be guided step-by-step to create your own work of art on canvas, while enjoying a drink. No talent? No experience? No problem! Mindful art is about enjoying the moment. This relaxed workshop is about making human connections, and having fun. You may be surprised to discover your inner artist - or perhaps your inner child! We provide a supportive environment where you can just be yourself.

Info: We invite you to share your artwork with the rest of the group, and say how you are feeling at the end of the session. However, there is no pressure to do so if you don't want to. But you may be pleasantly surprised at the positive feedback, and good vibes you receive from the group!
