About this Event
Open to women only
An open, honest conversation about perimenopause, early menopause and mental wellbeing, shaped by lived experience and gentle practice.
What you can expect from this talk:
- What’s actually happening in the body and nervous system during perimenopause and menopause, without getting clinical or overwhelming
- The kinds of changes many of us start noticing. Anxiety, sleep disruption, feeling wired or exhausted, changes in energy, confidence or how the body feels
- My own experience of being in perimenopause. What surprised me, what felt challenging, and what genuinely helped
- Why slowing down and listening to the body becomes more important during this phase, not less
- How mindful movement and breathwork can support stress, anxiety, sleep and emotional regulation when hormones are shifting
- What it can look like to move in a way that works with your changing cycles and energy, rather than pushing through
- A chance to reflect on participant experiences, optional sharing, so we feel less alone in it
The session will be practical and interactive, with simple mindful movement and breathwork woven in. Nothing intense or performative. Just accessible tools you can use in everyday life to feel more grounded, calm and connected to your body.
For those who feel they’d benefit from more consistent support, the talk will also gently introduce a 6-week mindful movement programme at The Bridge, designed to help you build a steadier, more trusting relationship with your body through this transition.

About The Bridge
The Bridge is a women’s health and wellbeing charity based in Southwark working to create inclusive and welcoming spaces for women of all identities to connect and thrive for over 90 years. We believe in a fairer society where women’s voices are heard and their health and wellbeing are valued and respected. Through our women-only gym, community café, wellbeing programmes and support groups, we help women care for themselves, support one another and challenge injustices together.
How to contribute
At The Bridge, we’re all about working together and building meaningful partnerships with the women in our community. We believe that everyone has something valuable to offer, and that means everyone has a role in shaping our work—because The Bridge belongs to all of us. We celebrate each person’s unique strengths and contributions, creating opportunities for everyone to get involved in a way that feels right for them.
Whether you give your time, skills, or financial support, every contribution means we’re working together to make The Bridge the space we want it to be.
One way to support our work is through our pay-what-you-can model, which ensures that our activities and events are accessible to all while allowing space for contributions to go towards helping us sustain what we do. Whatever you choose to give, it all makes a difference.
Want to get involved and contribute in other ways? We’d love to hear from you!
