Military Heritage Weekend – preparations are well underway!Things are coming together nicely for the Castle Military Museum's Military Heritage Weekend at the Castle of Good Hope, taking place on 19–20 September 2026.
Planning and preparations are now well advanced, and we’re looking forward to bringing together an exciting mix of military history, historic vehicles, uniforms and equipment, living history and re-enactments, medals and militaria, museums, collectors, researchers and enthusiasts — all within the historic walls of the Castle.
There will be plenty to see and discover, whether you’re a serious military history enthusiast or simply looking for an interesting day out with the family.
Over the next two weeks we’ll be sharing more information about some of the special displays, vehicles, exhibitors, talks and activities that will form part of the weekend — including a few rather unusual pieces of South African military history that aren’t often seen in public.
