Doveridge, get ready for a very different kind of Saturday night. On Saturday 14 November, the gloriously unpredictable Mik Artistik's Ego Trip come to Doveridge Village Club for an evening of live music, poetry, storytelling, surreal humour and the sort of audience interaction that can send a gig somewhere completely unexpected.
If you're a regular at Doveridge Village Club, love discovering great live acts, or enjoy blues, roots, Americana, folk, rock and alternative music with a bit of personality thrown in, this is a night to put in the diary.
Mik Artistik is impossible to pigeonhole.
Part poet. Part storyteller. Part comedian. Part rock 'n' roll frontman. Part accidental philosopher.
Alongside him, the brilliant Jonny Flockton brings the guitar firepower, weaving rock, soul, funk, punk and roots influences into a sound that is completely their own.
The result is a live show that's funny, soulful, unpredictable and genuinely different.
No two performances are quite the same.
The audience is part of the show.
And you never quite know what Mik is going to say next.
🎤 Expect:
🎸 Brilliant live music and exceptional guitar
🎤 Songs, poetry and storytelling
😂 Offbeat humour and plenty of laughs
🎶 Rock, soul, funk, punk and roots influences

Iggy Pop called Sweet Leaf of the North his favourite song of the 2010s, describing it as “human, real and with soul.”
He also said:
“What would life be for me without Mik Artistik? Well smaller and not as much fun.”
And Gideon Coe of BBC 6 Music called them:
“Best live band I've seen all summer.”
That's the thing about Mik Artistik's Ego Trip.
You can try to describe them.
But really, you just need to see them.
Whether you're coming from Doveridge, Uttoxeter, Ashbourne, Derby, Burton-on-Trent, Derbyshire Dales or across Staffordshire, come and discover one of the UK's most original live acts.
Come for the music. Stay for the stories.
And leave wondering what on earth just happened.
