Picture Yourself as a Falcon:
Imagine stepping into a program with a legendary legacy. The Foothills Falcon Band is the largest high school marching band in Arizona, a title it has held for over 25 years. When you join, you become part of that tradition and the family of musicians who built it.
As a Falcon, you’ll have opportunities available to fewer than 1% of high school students nationwide. You’ll learn from three dedicated specialist directors: Mr. Ian Marcusiu (Brass), Dr. Tina Walton (Percussion), and Ms. Renee Shane-Boyd (Woodwind). Whatever you play, you’ll have an expert in your section helping you grow.
Where Could the Band Take You?
Falcon musicians have performed in California, New York, Hawaii, England, Ireland, Australia, and China. They’ve marched in both the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Tournament of Roses Parade. The next big stage could include you!
But the biggest journey happens right here at home. As Band Director Renee Shane-Boyd puts it:
"Being a part of the Catalina Foothills High School Band program allows students to develop their musicianship to a high level of excellence that has been recognized at the state and national level while also building strong skills in leadership, problem solving, and critical thinking. The band gives students a welcoming place to belong while learning to work positively and collaboratively with others to achieve rigorous goals."
A Place for Every Musician and Performer
No matter what kind of musician or performer you are, there’s a spot for you:
- Colorguard and Winterguard (which travel and compete with the band)
- Four distinct Concert Bands
- Jazz Band and Jazz Combo
- Various Small Ensembles
