The homecoming parade will travel west along 26th Avenue from MHS, turn north on 34th Street, and end at the intersection of 34th Street and Avenue of the Cities. For safety, no spectators will be allowed to view the parade near 41st Street and 26th Avenue. Spectators are asked to spread out along the route and not crowd the start of the parade.
New this year, designated parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis until 1:45 p.m. (see map under discussion tab). Spectators with limited mobility are encouraged to arrive early to park in the Driving Range off of 26th Avenue.
All students will be dismissed early for the Homecoming Parade. Dismissal times are: Elementary: 1:30 p.m. (EXCEPT Roosevelt will dismiss at 1:10 p.m.); Middle School: 1:00 p.m.; High School: 11:10 a.m.
Info for parade participants:
~Staging starts at 1 p.m. in the MHS student parking lot (enter from 34th Street)
~After the parade route, parade vehicles take a right onto Avenue of the Cities. The drop-off point for parade participants is the bus lane between Coolidge and Roosevelt. Students must exit the parade vehicle at the bus lane and walk across the Coolidge field to MHS.
~Parade vehicles may then enter back into the MHS campus via the main drive and go to the student parking lot OR leave the MHS campus completely.
