The Outreach Team are holding online and in person events, where you can find out how to prepare, apply, and succeed in your application to become a Police Constable or Detective Constable.

Events are delivered by serving Police and Detective Constables, who will share their journey, on what it is like policing in the dynamic and prestigious city, which is London.

Entry Pathways<h4>Met Police are currently undergoing a significant recruitment drive for Police Constables and we have 3 entry pathways with a starting salary of £36,775 (including London allowances) £40,837 on completing probation.</h4><h4>
</h4><h4>• Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship Scheme - 3 year work/study programme (academic pathway, includes assignments to gain BSc in Professional Policing Practise.</h4>

<h4>• Police Constable Entry Programme (Police Constable) - 2 year 'on the job' programme, informal learning programme.</h4>

<h4>• Degree Holder Entry Programme (Police and Detective Constable) - 2 year programme, work towards Diploma in Professional Policing Practise.</h4>

Your salary will increase each year up to over £54,000 within seven years

On promotion to the next police rank – Sergeant – you can earn over £57,000. Many officers apply for sergeant after three - five years as as a Constable.
