Join us the Tuesday after Thanksgiving at 5:00 PM for a festive evening full of cheer in Vacaville's downtown at Merriment on Main. Vendors will line Main Street offering free sweets and goodies, and performers and crowd entertainers will captivate even the smallest kiddies. With eager anticipation, the beautifully adorned tree will be lit promptly at 6:30 PM. Thousands of event goers will gather to experience the holiday extravaganza with music, lights, and plenty of holiday spirit. Mark your calendars, ready your ride, and get ready for a jolly good time!
- Multiple viewing areas to what the holiday tree lighting or avoid the crowds and watch on one of five onsite, live stream screens offered in Town Square, inside McBride Senior Center, Merchant and Dobbins Streets, Main and Parker, and at the Winter Walkway and School Street. For those unable to attend in-person, this year the main event will also be streamed to the City’s YouTube channel @CityofVacaville.
- Accessible Seating zone will be located on Davis Street facing the Tree. The seating area will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until 6:15 PM at which time it will close for the Tree Lighting.
- Community groups line the main event corridors, where free giveaways continue.
- A Sensory Room will be offered at the McBride Community Center.
- The Merry Market brings a festive selection of food and non-food vendors to the CreekWalk Plaza.
- The Kid Zone is located in the CreekWalk Plaza, where Santa will be waiting to take all their holiday wishes. There will also be fun games, crafts, and more.
- Winter Walkway will be lit up from top to bottom creating a worthy Instagram photo opportunity perfect for posting on the bridge that connects School Street and E. Monte Vista Avenue,
- Performances throughout the event with multiple stages and a wide range of performances from local community groups, school groups, and professional bands.
- All aboard! Enjoy complimentary train rides in the MaxFit parking lot.
- Do you hear the clip, clop of horse drawn carriages? Step in for free ride down the Vacaville Museum where you can enjoy a fresh cup of onion soup - a Vacaville Merriment on Main tradition.
Be sure to review our safety precautions due to crowding on Main Street. The aim is to offer an enjoyable and safe experience for everyone:
- No Stopping Zone: On Main Street sidewalks between Merchant and Davis Streets, pedestrian traffic must keep flowing.
- Viewing Zone: On Main Street, community members and visitors may stand and watch the lighting of the 2026 Holiday Tree.
