Get into the season of giving and gratitude by sharing a little kindness with someone who may need it most!
About this Event

Join NAMI-NYC and Psych Ward Greeting Cards for a special card-writing volunteer event where you'll create handwritten messages of encouragement for people receiving care in psychiatric units across New York City. Your words can remind someone that they are not alone and that recovery is possible.

During the event, you'll:

  • Get creative and write uplifting greeting cards for New Yorkers currently experiencing an inpatient hospital stay
  • Mingle and socialize with other community members
  • Learn more about NAMI-NYC free mental health programs

We will provide sample language to use to get your creative energy flowing. See you there!

About:

Psych Ward Greeting Cards makes it easy for empathic and compassionate people to let patients in the psychiatric unit know that people, even strangers, care about them and support them. It is a program created and managed by NAMI-NYC Board Member Katherine Ponte to share hope for recovery through the delivery of greeting cards, chocolate, and small gifts from strangers to patients at participating hospitals.
