About this Event
This Mental Health First Aid training has been scheduled for military personnel, veterans, family members, and civilians that work on Kirtland Air Force Base.
This 8-hour training offers participants the opportunity to learn how to identify, understand, and respond to others who may be developing and/or experiencing a mental health, behavioral health, and/or substance use concern.
Mental Health First Aid training is designed for people who want to be introduced to the common mental health challenges people experience and learn a 5-step action plan for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations by:
• Recognizing common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges.• Recognizing common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges.• Understanding how to interact with a person in crisis.• Learning how to connect a person with help.• Using self-care tools and techniques.
