Battle of the Mind
Understanding Mental Health, Identifying Coping Strategies & Recognizing Spiritual Warfare
Saturday, November 7, 2026 | 10:00 AM–2:00 PM
Join us for our 2026 Mental Health Fair, centered around the theme “Battle of the Mind.” This event is designed to create a safe, welcoming environment where individuals and families can learn more about mental health, recognize signs and symptoms, discover practical coping strategies, and explore the connection between mental health and spiritual warfare.
As a church, we believe caring for the whole person matters. Mental health can affect our thoughts, emotions, relationships, physical well-being, and spiritual lives. Through education, conversation, practical resources, and faith-based encouragement, we hope to help reduce stigma, increase awareness, and equip our community with tools and resources for everyday life.

10:00–10:30 AM | Opening & Vendor Partners

Opening Remarks — Pastor Patterson
The event will begin with a welcome and opening from Pastor Patterson, followed by an introduction to our vendor partners and the resources they provide.
10:30–11:00 AM | Session 1
Why Mental Health Matters & Recognizing Signs and Symptoms
Presented by LCS Counseling Services
Learn why mental health matters and how it can impact individuals, families, and communities. This session will focus on recognizing common signs and symptoms of mental health concerns and understanding when additional support may be needed.
11:00–11:15 AM | Vendor & Resource Time
Location: Fellowship Hall
Connect with our community partners, explore available resources, ask questions, and learn about services available to individuals and families.
11:15 AM–12:00 PM | Session 2
Coping Skills with Practical Application
Presented by JPS Hospital
Discover practical and healthy coping strategies for managing stress, difficult emotions, life challenges, and everyday pressures. This session will focus on tools that participants can apply in their everyday lives.
12:00–12:45 PM | Lunch Break
Enjoy a time of fellowship, food, and connection before the afternoon session.
12:45–1:15 PM | Session 3
Mental Health & Spiritual Warfare
Presented by Texas Baptist
Explore the relationship between mental health, our thought life, faith, and spiritual warfare. This session will provide biblical insight while encouraging a balanced understanding of mental health and the importance of seeking appropriate professional support when needed.
1:15–1:30 PM | Vendor & Resource Time
Location: Fellowship Hall
Take another opportunity to connect with our community partners, gather resources, and learn about services available in our community.
1:30–2:00 PM | Closing
Pastor Patterson
We will conclude the Mental Health Fair with closing remarks, encouragement, and a final opportunity to reflect on what we've learned throughout the day.
