About this Event
A practical three-hour session to help you understand mental health, recognise when someone may be struggling and feel more confident starting a supportive conversation.
Mental health can sometimes feel difficult to talk about. You may be worried about a friend, family member, colleague or neighbour, or simply want to feel better informed.
This informal and interactive session will explore:
During the session we’ll explore:
- what we mean by mental health
- signs and changes that may suggest someone is struggling
- stigma and barriers to asking for help
- how to approach someone you are concerned about
- listening and supportive conversations
- your role and boundaries
- where to signpost for further support
The session includes discussion, practical activities and real-life examples.
It is open to anyone who would like to feel more confident talking about mental health, whether through work, volunteering, community life or everyday conversations with friends and family.
