The funeral service for my father was held on August 17, 2026, back in Ottawa. Due to the distance, I was not able to celebrate my father's life and witness with my parish community and friends throughout the diocese. Therefore, I thought it best to hold a memorial service for my dad here at All Saints.
The service will be at 10:00 am on September 26, 2026, with a reception to follow. Below is my father's obituary.
Yvon Vincent Levesque
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Yvon Vincent Levesque, surrounded by his loving family at Bruyère Health Saint-Vincent Hospital on the morning of August 5, 2026.
Born in Ottawa, Yvon passed away in his 86th year. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Mary Louise (Mary Lou) Levesque.
A devoted and loving father, Yvon will be deeply missed by his sons, Vincent Levesque (Jennifer Murphy) and Martin Levesque (Carolyn Marshall).
He was a proud and cherished grandfather to Steven, Kaitlyn, Hannah, and Abigail, and a loving great-grandfather to Adam and Samantha.
Yvon was the dear brother of the late Colette Levesque (Ernest Hamel) and the late Paul Levesque (Ginette Perron)
Yvon's kindness, wisdom, and dedication to his family will be remembered always by those who knew and loved him.
An avid outdoorsman, Yvon had a lifelong love of fishing and treasured the many trips he made up north to Manitoba. Some of his happiest moments were spent on the water, rod in hand, enjoying the peace and beauty of nature.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Saints Anglican Church.
May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
