About this Event
Memento Mori is a contemplative exhibit of photography in Niccolls Gallery – a collaboration of the Worship and Arts Committee at Second Church and local photographer Steve Springmeyer. This exciting and contemplative exhibit calls us to a remembrance of that which is transitory: the changing, the finite, the ephemeral. It is a reflection on the finitude of existence, a gratitude for the gift of the present life, and a contemplation of metaphysical realities.
The Gallery features the photography of Steve Springmeyer who “...wants to capture and share how [he sees] the world…where [he] finds beauty, and mystery, and sometimes humor…”
The event will begin with a lite lunch and then move to a 30-40 minute conversation with Steve about his journey as an artist, his thoughts behind this show (and its themes) as a whole, and reflections on specific works in the exhibit.
There will be plenty of time allotted for questions from the audience, to view the art, and to interact with Steve.
