About this Event
Stories in Circles. Warli Painting on Handmade Paper
Discover the beauty of Warli, a traditional tribal art form from Maharashtra, India, through a hands-on painting workshop led by Mansi Khamkar. Using handmade paper and acrylic colours, participants will explore Warli’s distinctive geometric shapes, rhythmic patterns and storytelling traditions.
Inspired by nature, community and everyday life, you’ll learn to create your own artwork using simple lines, circles and triangles. This beginner-friendly session celebrates Indian cultural heritage and traditional art. No previous painting experience is needed, and all materials will be provided.
Following the opening of our new Ground Floor and Learning Centre on 6th November, BACKLIT Members are taking over the space with a programme of talks, creative workshops and community gatherings. Join us to explore new ideas, try something different, share experiences and connect with others through art, creativity and conversation.
