Fifty years ago, fondue was the center of the dinner party, the Judgment of Paris changed the wine world, and some of the greatest music of the decade was on the turntable.
On Sunday, October 25, Wedgewood is going back.
MELT: 1976 is a one-night-only dinner party inspired by the food, wine, music and culture of 1976 — reimagined through the lens of Wedgewood.
Expect the era’s most iconic dinner-party dishes, elevated with exceptional ingredients, thoughtful technique and a little Wedgewood irreverence. Think familiar 1970s classics made sharper, richer and more delicious: cultured cheeses, French blues, beautiful charcuterie, proper fondue, composed entrées and a Black Forest Baked Alaska to finish.
Fondue sits at the heart of the evening, and each course will be paired with wine, with the pairings inspired in part by the historic 1976 Judgment of Paris and the relationship between French and California wine.
And because the soundtrack matters: every song played that night will have been released in 1976.
Think fondue pots, candlelight, good bottles, retro glamour, and the kind of dinner that lasts longer than planned.
