Community Sing @ Follow Your Art | Sept 28, 7 - 9 PM
We’re excited to bring the joy and connection of community singing to Melrose and begin building a new local singing community together.
A Community Sing is a space where we gather, often in a circle, and experience what happens when we make music together.
There’s no need to read music, or even an expectation that you consider yourself a “singer.” We’ll use call-and-response to learn songs, and then let them grow through harmony-layers, body percussion, some playful vocal improv, and often incorportating our own words or verses in the song to meet the moment. Different than a jam or Strummerville, we'll leave the instruments behind, sometimes leaning on accompaniment of a single guitar or drum and often relishing in the simple and powerful sound of just our voices together.
This is an intergenerational event, and anyone with interest in connecting to their voice and community, is warmly welcomed to join.

This is a pilot program, with the hopes of building momentum for more reoccurring Singing Offerings at Follow Your Art, some of which may be adult - only.
RSVP & Cost: We encourage RSVPs through Eventbrite, but walk-ins are welcome too. Sliding Scale $10-30. You can pay through eventbrite, pay cash at the door, or venmo @millygraceroberts. No one turned away for lack of funds.
