About this Event
Art Dialogues is pleased to invite you to a conversation featuring Melissa Joseph and Aruna D’Souza, in dialogue with magazine’s founder & editor-in-chief Anita Goes and co-curator Iara Pimenta.
Melissa Joseph is a New York based artist. Her work considers themes of memory, family history, and the politics of how we occupy spaces. She intentionally alludes to the labors of women as well as experiences as a second generation American and the unique juxtapositions of diasporic life.
Aruna D’Souza is a critic who is interested in how art can offer ideas for navigating an increasingly untenable world. She is a regular contributor to the New York Times and 4Columns, and has contributed to numerous books and exhibition catalogues.
Melissa Joseph and Aruna D’Souza’s connection emerged organically through shared networks and feminist inquiry. Their exchange eventually converged within a collective of thinkers and artists exploring what a South Asian feminist future might look like. This shared space of dialogue became the ground on which their conversation and collaboration took shape for this 5th Edition.
Your support is essential as we continue to nurture meaningful connections between artists and the community. The printed edition of Art Dialogues will be available for purchase at all events.
