Melbourne's Festival of Lights is back for its fifth year.On Saturday 31 October, Marvel Stadium Square becomes the brightest place in the city. Expect eight hours of light, music, dance and food, with up to 15,000 Melburnians expected through the gates. Entry is free and everyone is welcome.
What's on
• Live on the main stage all day. 65+ performances, from five-year-olds to grandparents.
• The Dance Competition. 40 groups go head to head across Primary, Secondary and Adult categories. Come early, pick a favourite and cheer loud.
• Dance with us. Free Bhangra, Garba and Bollywood workshops, open to everyone and no experience needed. Don't just watch the dancing, join in.
• Cook along with Kishwar Chowdhury. The MasterChef favourite hosts two Fortune Foods masterclasses at 4pm and 6pm.
• Street food and Diwali markets. Food trucks, festive stalls, henna, gifts and more to explore.
• Lights, colour and atmosphere. Stay into the evening, when the square lights up.
