Journalist Melanie Kaplan, author of Lab Dog: A Beagle and His Human Investigate the Surprising World of Animal Research, will be in conversation with Dane4Dogs founder Rebekah Robinson, discussing Hammy, the former lab beagle who inspired Melanie’s book; the closing of Envigo and Ridglan, two of the three biggest breeders of research beagles in the United States; the current state of animal testing and government requirements for dog use; and the promising non-animal alternatives that give us reasons to be optimistic. Former lab beagles will be in attendance!
