Meetings with the Human Voice

This experiential weekend invites you to explore the human voice as a living instrument of transformation. Through deep listening, sound, and embodied practice, we will learn to meet our own voices not as tools of communication, but as mirrors of the soul—capable of dissolving what is rigid, revealing what is hidden, and giving form to what longs to be expressed.

Guided by Sven Doehner, Jungian Archetypal Psychoanalyst and Somatic Movement Educator, we’ll journey into the subtle realms where vibration becomes emotion, and sound becomes a bridge between the personal and transpersonal.

The workshop is open to all therapists, counsellors, and people interested in exploring the voice and expanding their listening capacities. No previous experience needed.

On its own, sound is able to break things down, to open spaces, and to give form to things invisible to the naked eye. According to Alchemical wisdom, the “work of transformation” involves doing just that, doing what they called: “dissolve the coagulated and coagulate that which is dissolved”.

Practical experience shows that when we break things apart, open spaces, and give palpable form to what is otherwise invisible to us with the sound of our own voice, deep and lasting transformation seems to inevitably be triggered.

Over three days we will weave together listening, movement, and vocal exploration as pathways of self-discovery.

• On Friday evening, we begin cultivating deep listening — learning to sense vibration and movement within ourselves and others.
• On Saturday, we work with freeing the natural voice, discovering what our inner landscapes sound like when given form through sound rather than words.
• On Sunday, we explore how to respond vocally — rather than verbally — to what we hear, opening a space for genuine transformation, play, and renewed creativity.

• Techniques to free the natural voice and release what is held within.
• An understanding of the alchemical process of dissolution and re-formation through sound.

This workshop is for those who seek non-linear, creative, and embodied approaches to inner work — therapists, artists, dreamers, or anyone drawn to the mystery of transformation through voice.

CPD certificates for 14 hours will be provided.

The online lecture on Friday evening will be recorded for those who cannot attend live. Please note that attendance is necessary on all days.

Sven Doehner, PhD, MFA, is a 77 year-old Mexican Jungian Archetypal Psychoanalyst and Somatic Movement Educator, who combines Ancestral Healing and Spiritual practices (today called "Shamanism"), with the "Alchemical Psychology" of C.G. Jung and James Hillman, in his work with images from dreams and from daily life, and in his work with the human voice – always at the service of deep and lasting healing and transformation.
