Meeting of the Mentors Career and Networking Event

It’s that time of the year again! Energy Trust of Oregon’s Meeting of the Mentors is back for its sixth consecutive year. Come meet experts and peers in your field at this fun, in-person event designed to connect emerging and established professionals working in the rapidly growing sustainable build community.

CONNECT AND LEARN

• Network with professionals in Oregon’s design and build fields and learn about opportunities that can advance your career trajectory.
• Hear from and connect with participating organizations about scholarships, grants, internships and other career development opportunities.
• Get feedback on your resume from established professionals in your chosen industry.
• Share strategies to encourage diversity in our professions and expand access to careers in sustainability. Play networking bingo with other attendees and turn in your card for a chance to win a raffle.

ABOUT THE PARTICIPATING ORGANIZATIONS

• AIA Oregon, Committee on the Environment: AIA Oregon is the state’s chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), providing over 1,500 members with practical resources, professional continuing education and advocacy for sound public policies that support livable, sustainable communities everywhere.
• NBI Next Gen: Next Gen fosters the next generation of diverse buildings industry leaders, and in doing so bolsters inclusivity in the buildings industry at large. Over the course of the Next Gen program, students work with each other as part of a cohort and benefit from resume building, interview practice, mentorship, sponsored conference attendance, networking and more.
• NOMA PDX: The National Organization of Minority Architects Portland Chapter’s mission is to empower local creatives, amplify underrepresented experiences within the design community and advocate for social justice, equity and equality through design achievement, community engagement and professional development.
• NSBE-PRO PDX: The National Society of Black Engineers Portland Professionals chapter is dedicated to positively impacting lives by leveraging a global community that empowers members to grow technically, access influential leadership, advance careers and inspire the next generation of Black technical professionals.
• SHPE Oregon: The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) serves the State of Oregon, Southern Washington and SHPE Region 1 at-large. Its leadership team comprises industry, academia and nonprofit, striving to bring new opportunities to Hispanics in the areas they serve. SHPE is more than a diversity pipeline for Silicon Forest; it is an integral part of a new generation workforce that advances engineering and innovation.
