About this Event

Berkshire Community Foundation (BCF) is an independent charity dedicated to strengthening communities across Berkshire. They connect local philanthropy with grassroots organisations and individuals, funding projects that tackle disadvantage, support wellbeing and create lasting positive change. By working closely with donors, partners and community groups, BCF helps ensure that funding reaches those who need it most and has a meaningful impact across the county.

In this session, BCF’s Community Impact Manager, Ellie Philpott, will introduce the Foundation and its funding programmes, following the launch of its new strategy in April 2026. The session will also include practical tips for applicants, interactive exercises,useful tips and advice on forthcoming funding streams in Windsor & Maidenhead, Slough and surrounding areas and a Q&A.


Why should you attend this workshop?
  • Explore different funding streams available locally and understand which ones best fit your project.
  • Get practical guidance on what BCF funders are looking for and how to strengthen your application.
  • Learn how to present clear outcomes, budgets and evidence of need.
  • Find out common application pitfalls and how to avoid them.
  • Have the chance to ask questions and get tailored advice for your group.

Groups are welcome to bring along any draft applications or documents they would like advice on for BCF funding. You will have a chance to discuss your individual applications with Ellie.

This training is free to join but there is a cost for us to deliver.

NB. A charge of £30 will be incurred for non-attendance not notified to us within 48 hrs of the course start time; this will be invoiced to you or your organisation.

Slough CVS is a local charity funded to support groups in Slough, Windsor, Ascot , Maidenhead and surrounding areas so please only register for this training if you provide services or intend to volunteer in the areas we serve. If we have places available 24 hours before the start of the training and you would like to attend but are not in our area of benefit, please email [email protected] and we will try to accommodate you.
