About this Event
We're delighted to be partnering our neighbours in Waterstones to bring you two fanatastic authors for this practical event targeted at aspiriring writers, particularly of children's fiction.
Amy Sparkes and Genevieve Carver will read brief extracts from their most recent children's books and then will be open to all of your questions about writing and publishing.
Although this event is targeted at children's writers, our authors both have long careers in writing and will be happy to talk about all aspects of writing and publishing and about how they have made a living in the literary world.
About our authors:
Amy Sparkes Devon-based Amy Sparkes is an award-winning, New York Times bestselling author of over 30 books who created the global hit series, The House At The Edge of Magic. Alongside her children's fiction, Amy also writes for adults, produces films, and supports writers through various initiatives. She is happiest when off for an adventure, either in the real world, or inside her head. For more, see:
Genevieve Carver is part writer, part Water Spirit. She is the author of three books of poetry and has written and performed her work in locations including disused factories, uninhabited islands and offshore windfarms. She previously worked as an archaeologist and holds an MA in European Prehistory from the University of Sheffield. Genevieve now lives in Aberdeen, where she regularly immerses herself in the North Sea. The Ocean and the Bones is her first novel.
