Medium Build is the alter ego of American singer-songwriter Nick Carpenter. With his sharp lyrics, disarming honesty and energetic live shows, he has built up a loyal fanbase over the past few years. His music lies somewhere between indie, lo-fi, country and rock, with influences ranging from Pedro the Lion and Alvvays to Harry Styles and Sam Fender. Following his breakthrough album *Country* (2024), Medium Build is back with *King of Having Fun*, his most exuberant and self-assured record to date. The songs were recorded live with his band and combine a fresh rock ’n’ roll energy with the introspective lyrics that characterise Carpenter’s work. The result is an album about learning to enjoy life, love and, above all, yourself all over again.
